Last Day of 2019!! How are you moving into 2020?

As I sit here writing this, it is the last day of 2019. So much has happened for me this year and I'm sure that so much has happened for you as well. Relationships have deepened, careers have progressed, realizations have taken place and priorities altered. I have noticed many things coming together and as well as many things being let go. I'm sure that 2019 was a whirlwind for you as well. I'm sure that a lot has changed for better or for worse. Life continues to teach us how to adapt with the changes that come. It teaches us how to embrace it and enjoy the ride.

Usually on the last day of the year I like to contemplate on everything that has happened and count my blessings. I like to take a moment to be grateful for all of the joys and successes. I like to also take a moment to learn from my mistakes and the lessons that have come through hard times. I like to have some time for silence and reflection before the celebrations of New Year's Eve begin.

So just take a moment and think about it. What are you truly grateful for this year? What has been such an amazing gift or just a life changing experience? What has made you feel even more alive? What has put you in a state of awe?

We all know that life is full of unexpected events and surprises. We might make our whole plan for the year and then only half of it comes into fruition. We might be going for something in particular and then something even better comes up. Opportunities jump out of nowhere, extreme challenges present themselves; many things might happen which could just rock our world and totally change the direction of our mind.

So take a moment and just think about those unexpected moments of 2019. Just think about how you could have never guessed how it would all play out. What was it that most surprised you this year? What was it that challenged you the most? And what was it that showed you that there was a different way, that there was a better way?

Now as we move into 2020, what is it that you want even more of? What is it that you want to let go of? I know that new year's resolutions sounds pretty cheesy most of the time. People feel like it is an obligation to make a change for the better by someone else's viewpoint, but it might not necessarily ring true for themselves. Sometimes we don't even give any thought to it and we simply just go with what everyone else is promising to themselves. Like to work out at the gym more often or to eat healthier; it might not be what we really need but instead it could be something that we think we need because of what other people are saying.

So when you think about the new year, think about what you really want to manifest even more of this year. What do you yourself truly want that is independent of anyone else. Think about what it is that would bring you closer to the highest version of yourself that you can imagine.

Some great things to think about are the different aspects of your life that are important. Perhaps consider your career, relationship, living situation, how you spend your leisure time, what you are studying, family life, social life, hobbies and skills, or your finances. The list can go on and on. Just take a moment to think about each aspect and what is really important for you to feel your best in that area.

Now if you want, you could get out your journal and take note on all of these things that are important to YOU and YOUR life. Take note on how you want to grow more this year while also remembering how to adapt to all the changes as well. And then as you move into the new year with grace and intention, be proud of yourself for who you are and for who you will become.
